Day one of the escape...the Leos make a break for it.
We hit the road about 10:00 this morning. At 3:00 this afternoon, while stopped at a rest stop outside Quanah, Texas, I took the picture above. Clearly we have waited a little too long to make our break. The mountains are still two days away. I hope we make it.....so does Leo...

We are now stopped for the evening at Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV Park in Goodlett, Texas.

It has now cooled down to 97° outside, the air conditioner has it down to 90° inside. So, I think we'll make it.
As a tribute to starting a new phase of my pre-retirement, I shaved off my beard and mustache. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Now....I'm growing it back. More news later.
